Description

It is a global information system that provides market data on agricultural products worldwide, especially from the G20. The objective of the AMIS is to collect and disseminate information on the supply and demand of agricultural products, prices and trade policies, among other aspects. FAO's AMIS is based on a network of national reporters who provide up-to-date information on the agricultural commodity market in their respective countries. This information is compiled and analyzed by FAO and used to produce global agricultural market reports and analysis. FAO's AMIS is a useful tool for governments, international organizations, producers and traders of agricultural commodities, as well as researchers and those interested in the world agricultural market in general. It enables informed decisions on the production, marketing and consumption of agricultural products worldwide and helps ensure food security and sustainable development in the agricultural sector globally.
