Ibero-America: space of opportunities for growth, collaboration and sustainable development

The first chapter of this publication presents a stylized overview of the economies of Ibero-America based on population, territory, production, growth rates, inflation and macroeconomic indicators. The second chapter analyzes the international economic situation, characterized by changes in globalization and a sequence of world crises that have led to a slowdown in growth and a reduction in financial flows to emerging countries. The third chapter addresses the fundamental issues of trade performance, the evolution of foreign direct investment and migratory flows between Latin America and the Iberian Peninsula. The fourth chapter highlights opportunities for growth, collaboration and sustainable development based on an analysis of 15 growth-driving sectors. Finally, it presents a section of final reflections and highlights elements that call for immediate action by Ibero-American countries.
