This document aims to support the work of Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) countries in preparing and implementing their programs for food security and nutrition (FSN), as part of broader efforts to strengthen and improve agri-food systems. The initial section provides a brief history of the concept of FSN, highlighting the different levels at which it has been focused, from food production to consumption, and from global perspectives to the individual human focus. A second section analyzes different FSN indicators for individuals and presents general data for LAC.
