Brazilian Government reintroduces Food Acquisition Program

Brazilian Government recreates the Food Acquisition Program through Provisional Measure No. 1,166, of 03.22.2023. Establishes the Food Acquisition Program and amends Law No. 12,512, of October 14, 2011, and Law No. 14,133, of April 1, 2021.Through the program, the federal government buys products from family farming, without the need for bidding , and distributes to institutions that serve groups in situations of social vulnerability, popular restaurants, community kitchens, food banks, hospitals and prisons.
