Economic data for 2022 indicate a worsening of the situation due to several factors: on the one hand, COVID-19 is still ongoing, while global challenges are piling up, including conflicts and adverse weather conditions; to make matters worse, a war has broken out between Russia and Ukraine – two key countries in food production – at a time when more than 800 million people are suffering from hunger, and three billion are deprived of access to healthy diets.
