Description
This study explored the greatest possible genetic diversity of Foc by sampling across Indonesia at 34 geographically and environmentally distinct locations in 15 provinces on six islands. This resulted in a large collection of ∼200 isolates from 40 different banana landraces. The isolates were identified and evaluated by sequence analysis of translation elongation factor-1alpha (tef1), RNA polymerase II major subunit (rpb1) and RNA polymerase II second major subunit (rpb2). Phylogenetic analysis of these genes identified 180 isolates.
