Development of a hydrolysis probe based real time assay for the detection of Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense (2017)

A data validation was conducted to demonstrate the new use and applications of the already established tests on banana plant material and would contribute to prevent the introduction and spread of Foc strains affecting Cavendish in the tropics, the verification was done to work on prevention the methodologies used to strengthen included PCR testing, use of compatibility groups (VCG), the validation data demonstrated a set of 136 isolates of F. oxysporum isolates and 73 pathogenic Foc strains representing 24 VCGs, applications of regulatory testing on banana plant material can contribute to preventing the introduction and spread of Foc strains in the tropics.
