Support for agriculture increased in response to global crises, and reforms to combat climate change and market distortions are still essential.

The Agricultural Policy Monitoring and Evaluation 2022 report shows that, during the period 2019-2021, each year the 54 monitored countries – including all OECD and European Union economies, plus 11 key emerging economies – provided an average of $817 billion in support to agriculture, 13% more than the $720 billion recorded from 2018 to 2020. Support across all OECD countries has remained at considerable levels, and increased significantly in the 11 emerging economies.
