Description

Costa Rica's National Meteorological Institute (IMN) publishes its four-week sub-seasonal rainfall forecast. The current edition, covering October 12 to November 8, 2026, anticipates drier-than-normal conditions across the country, with a deficit that intensifies from October 25. From October 26, the North Pacific, Central Pacific and Central Valley would shift to "very dry" conditions, while the South Pacific, the Caribbean and the Northern Zone would remain dry. The probability of extreme events is low, between 10% and 20% per week, and forecast uncertainty rises in the final week.
