Description

Update from Brazil's National Center for Monitoring and Early Warning of Natural Disasters on the geo-hydrological risks forecast for 10 October 2026. The forecast identifies a high probability of continued hydrological events in the Uruguaiana region of Rio Grande do Sul due to the propagation of a flood wave in the Uruguay River basin, which could maintain or cause additional flooding. It also indicates moderate hydrological risk in parts of Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, Paraná, São Paulo and Minas Gerais, where forecast and accumulated rainfall could cause flash floods, waterlogging and overflowing streams. In addition, it reports a moderate geological risk of mass movements and localized landslides in areas of Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and Paraná.
