El Niño 2026-2027 Monitoring Tool

A regional monitoring tool developed by the IDB Group Ready and Resilient Americas program in collaboration with the International Research Center for the El Niño Phenomenon (CIIFEN). It brings together climate forecasts and information on droughts, floods, wildfires, and other hazards associated with the El Niño-Southern Oscillation. Its information layers help identify trends, understand evolving risks, and complement national and sectoral analyses. It includes country profiles with information on historical vulnerability, expected risks, potentially affected sectors, and tools for strengthening preparedness and response. Maps use data from their primary sources and should be interpreted together with official forecasts, local observations, and relevant sectoral assessments.
