Description

The Honduran Secretariat of Agriculture and Livestock reported that, as of October 3, 2026, eight of the 20 operations planned under the Cloud Seeding Program had been conducted. The flights used approximately 800 liters of silver iodide and covered areas of Francisco Morazán, Comayagua, Choluteca, Valle, La Paz, Intibucá, Lempira and Yoro, as well as strategic watersheds and water sources. Producers in the Dry Corridor reported rainfall after approximately ten months of drought. The program seeks to encourage rainfall and support the recovery of water sources and reserves for human consumption, agriculture and livestock production. The remaining 12 operations depend on favorable atmospheric conditions.
