Description
The National Agrifood Plan (PAN) presents a medium- and long-term strategic architecture for the reconstruction and transformation of Venezuela's agrifood system. It brings together diagnosis, vision, objectives, strategic axes, country programs, enabling conditions, implementation phases, and monitoring mechanisms. Its objectives include restoring conditions for investment, production, and agrifood value-chain coordination; increasing production and productivity; strengthening competitiveness; improving food and nutrition security; consolidating research, development and innovation, extension, health and agrifood information capacities; advancing toward more sustainable and climate-resilient systems; and establishing implementation, monitoring, and evaluation mechanisms. The PAN also proposes coordination among public and private institutions, producers, agroindustry, the financial system, academia, and international cooperation, with emphasis on sustainable productivity, innovation, territorial management, financing, and investment.
