Description

FEWS NET update on acute food insecurity in Haiti from July 2026 to January 2027. It projects widespread Crisis, IPC Phase 3, outcomes and Emergency, IPC Phase 4, outcomes among some households in the worst-affected areas, particularly internally displaced person sites in the Port-au-Prince Metropolitan Area, Lower Artibonite, and communes of Centre and Nord-Ouest. Spring harvests are temporarily improving local availability but remain insufficient to offset displacement, below-average income-earning opportunities, and elevated prices. Violence in Kenscoff displaced approximately 5,840 people from 1,836 households, 86% of whom are being hosted by other families, while disrupting access to agricultural land, harvests, and fresh produce supplies. Staple food prices remain nearly 90% above the five-year average.
