Description

This document addresses the process of formulating differentiated public policies for family farming through the use of tools and mechanisms guided by the public policy cycle, based on experiences of participatory construction and empowerment of stakeholders in rural territories in the management of their own development. Conceptual definitions are explored and methodological tools for the design of public policies for the sustainable development of family farming are analyzed. It also describes the types of public policy, the relationship between social actors and public agents in order to understand planning schemes and the technical feasibility of participatory processes, the regulatory and institutional frameworks that make public policies operational, and the context in which differentiated policies for family farming are formulated.
