Issue No. 46 of the GEOGLAM Global Crop Monitor, published on August 6, 2026, reporting crop conditions as of July 28, 2026. The report synthesizes information from the Crop Monitor for AMIS, the Crop Monitor for Early Warning, and direct country submissions, drawing on Earth observation data, ground observations, field reports, and national and regional experts. Global conditions for wheat, maize, rice, and soybeans remain generally favourable, although localized problems are reported due to high temperatures, drought, excess moisture, flooding, conflict, and input availability. The report indicates that El Niño conditions are present and estimates an 81 percent chance that the event will become very strong, with El Niño conditions forecast through April 2027. Positive Indian Ocean Dipole conditions are also forecast from September through December 2026.
