Description

The study estimates global production losses of 10.1% for rainfed crops and 6.8% for irrigated crops under extreme hydroclimatic conditions. Sustainable irrigation expansion and targeted crop switching could avoid up to 62% of rainfed losses while increasing median production by 14%.
