Uruguay strengthens controls after biological residues are detected in beef exported to China

Uruguay's Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries strengthened sanitary controls and traceability after China detected veterinary product residues in Uruguayan beef. The measures include origin investigations, targeted sampling, increased controls at farms and slaughterhouses, and preparation of a technical report to preserve access to the Chinese market.
