Colombia's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development mobilizes COP $146 billion to mitigate the impacts of El Niño, projected for the second half of 2026 based on technical assessments by Ideam, Dimar, and UNGRD. Measures include the FAIA-Mitigation program (COP $110 billion across 421 municipalities) for subsidized access to fertilizers, COP $36 billion for bioinputs and soil conditioners, and 10,000 water harvesting and on-farm irrigation solutions in the Caribbean region. Agroclimatic risk management instruments, insurance, credit lines, and capitalization incentives, are also activated, alongside a Unified Sectoral Command Post for interinstitutional coordination.
