MIDAGRI Launches Citrus and Avocado Project in the Central Selva of Peru

Peru's Ministry of Agricultural Development and Irrigation (MIDAGRI) symbolically planted avocado and citrus seedlings in the Puerto Ocopa Native Community of the Río Tambo district in Junín, marking the start of the project "Improving Support Services for Productive Development in Citrus and Avocado Crops in the Perené River Basin." The project, implemented through the Sierra Azul Fund in partnership with the Río Tambo District Municipality, represents an investment of over S/ 6.6 million. It aims to strengthen agricultural production, improve productivity, and enhance the competitiveness of farming families, particularly those in Asháninka communities.
