Description
Proceedings document developed from the XX Central American Climate Forum and the First Specialized Forum on the effects of El Niño/Southern Oscillation (ENSO) on Food and Nutrition Security, held in November 2006 at the Nutrition Institute of Central America and Panama (INCAP) and convened by the Regional Food and Nutrition Security Program for Central America (PRESANCA), within the framework of the Central American Integration System (SICA), with funding from the European Union. The document presented regional climate projections through five thematic maps on droughts, rainfall, and cold fronts, and identified expected impacts across the agricultural, environmental, fisheries, health, and nutrition sectors. It also proposed urgent prevention and mitigation measures aimed at public institutions, municipalities, communities, and families located in highly vulnerable areas.
