Description

The report, prepared within the framework of the Coffee and Forests Agreement, provides an analytical overview of the current state of the Peruvian coffee sector. It examines its main structural challenges, as well as recent developments and opportunities to strengthen competitiveness, sustainability, and resilience in the face of international market requirements, emerging regulations, and climate change impacts. The document characterizes smallholder coffee producers, analyzes production and trade dynamics, and addresses key issues such as traceability, territorial sustainability, and the transition toward climate-smart agricultural practices. It also outlines strategic guidelines aimed at consolidating a production model that values the origin of Peruvian coffee, improves the livelihoods of producer families, and contributes to forest conservation.
