Analysis of green job demand based on job vacancy information for Latin America and the Caribbean in the context of the energy transition

The green transition will be one of the main forces transforming the labor market in the coming years. This chapter analyzes the demand for green jobs in four Latin American countries using data from job portals and shows that, for now, their presence is still low, especially in new occupations linked to the transition. These jobs typically require high levels of education and offer salary premiums, highlighting the need to strengthen talent development and, at the same time, revealing opportunities to generate decent jobs in the region.
