Inclusion and youth in Latin America and the Caribbean
Technical report
28/11/2025
Description
Latin America and the Caribbean has approximately 160 million young people between the ages of 15 and 29, representing 25% of its population. Despite their significant demographic weight, young people in Latin America face inequalities that limit the full exercise of their rights. At the same time, they are key actors in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, both because they directly experience the gaps that the 2030 Agenda seeks to close and because of their growing leadership and participation in sustainable development initiatives. The challenges arising from the pandemic demand a renewed perspective and integrated actions from governments, international cooperation agencies, the private sector, academia, and civil society to prioritize young people and recognize their contributions.
