Over USD 5.5 billion Announced for Tropical Forest Forever Facility as 53 Countries Endorse Historic Launch Declaration

At the COP30 Leader’s Summit in Belém, more than USD 5.5 billion was pledged to the newly established Tropical Forest Forever Facility (TFFF), which has been endorsed by 53 countries (including 34 tropical-forest nations covering over 90 % of developing-country tropical forests). The TFFF creates a global mechanism to channel sovereign and private financing toward the permanent protection of tropical forests, with at least 20 % of resources earmarked for Indigenous Peoples and local communities, and with the World Bank confirmed as trustee.
