Description

FAO developed a methodology to assess the impact of damage and economic losses from disasters on crops, livestock, fisheries, aquaculture and forestry, for small, medium and large-scale disasters. The tool covers everything from data collection to systematization, analysis and reporting for decision making. In Argentina, Colombia, Chile and Uruguay, the methodology is already being adopted to strengthen national damage and loss assessment systems. In some cases, digital tools and technologies have been added for field data collection and recording.
