Soil health in Latin America and the Caribbean

This study assessed soil health in Latin America and the Caribbean using satellite data and machine learning to produce high-resolution maps. It found that 38% of soils are degraded, especially in drylands and savannas, while equatorial regions show healthier conditions. The findings support the development of soil conservation and restoration policies.
