Description

This analysis quantifies how agroforestry enhances soil health and ecosystem services in humid and sub-humid tropics. Compared to monocultures, agroforestry reduces soil erosion by up to 50%, improves infiltration and soil structure, and significantly increases the storage and availability of carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus. It also helps reduce soil acidity. These findings confirm that agroforestry is a key practice for sustainably strengthening soil-mediated ecosystem services.
