Description

This article analyzes India's need to develop greater support for digital innovation in the agricultural sector to meet climate change challenges. The document examines how digital technologies such as blockchain, artificial intelligence, drones and the Internet of Things can stimulate the transition towards more efficient and sustainable agricultural systems. It presents a public-private partnership framework implemented by the World Economic Forum in collaboration with the Telangana state government as a model for scaling digital technologies. The article proposes blended financing structures that integrate different types of capital to support agricultural technologies. It includes recommendations on how governments can act as enablers to create sustainable markets for these technologies.
