Description
The agricultural sector of developing countries, mostly made up of small and medium-sized producers, is characterized by low levels of productivity associated with the low intensity of the use of technologies, due to the fact that they do not have access to financing that allows them to implement these technological improvements. In Peru, family farming is the main generator of the national food supply, however, in line with the global trend, agricultural producers have limited access to financing, given that agricultural clients in the formal financial sector represent approximately 10% of the total number of agricultural producers. That is why the use of innovative tools is seen as an opportunity to reduce the barriers that currently limit access to financial services for rural actors in Peru.
