Strengthening digital financial inclusion in rural and agricultural areas. Recommendations for Latin America and the Caribbean.

The objective of this study is to provide a detailed overview of the state of progress of digital financial inclusion in LAC, with a particular focus on rural areas and the agricultural sector. The study seeks to highlight and illustrate the most recent trends and innovations in the use of digital services as a tool to promote rural financial inclusion, and to highlight the most relevant and interesting technologies, policies and business models that have been developed and launched in recent years in this regard. In addition, it aims to analyze and illustrate the most common and pressing challenges that still limit digital financial inclusion in rural areas in most LAC countries, and to offer a series of recommendations that aim to mitigate these barriers to inclusion.
