The Global Forest Resources Assessment 2015 (FRA 2015) is FAO's most comprehensive study on the state of forests at the global level. This exhaustive analysis examines data from 234 countries and territories, covering more than 60 forest-related variables during the 1990-2015 period. The assessment highlights changes in forest areas, biodiversity, productive and protective functions of forests, and provides essential information for policy formulation and sustainable management. FRA 2015 introduces the innovative Collaborative Forest Resources Questionnaire (CFRQ) to harmonize forest data collection internationally.
