MGAP develops digital platform “Environmental Value Added System for Agricultural Production”

Uruguay has developed the digital platform Sistema de Valor Agregado Ambiental a la Producción Agropecuaria (SVAAPAG), “which is based on an accumulation of public goods: DICOSE, SNIG, Land Use and Management Plans, Forestry Law and regulations for the protection of native forests”. This platform monitors and knows which properties are free of deforestation and where they are located, which subsequently makes it possible to ensure that both raw materials (timber, soybeans and leather) and finished products (boneless meat cuts) are free of deforestation.
