Description

Climate change represents both a critical threat and a unique opportunity for progress in Latin America and the Caribbean. This book addresses this dual reality, and shows that climate action is fundamentally action for development, as it helps countries achieve crucial development goals in the short to medium term. Getting to net zero emissions is feasible, generates tangible economic benefits, and relies mostly on agriculture, forestry, and other land uses. To be successful, climate action also requires widespread public support, based on a shared perception that policies are fair and effective. This volume can serve as a resource for governments, the private sector, and citizens as they seek to navigate these dangers while harnessing the promise of climate action.
