Description

This technical study, prepared by IFAD, FAO and WFP, analyzes how discriminatory social institutions, unequal power relations and autonomy influence climate resilience within sustainable agrifood systems. It also defines the key characteristics of gender transformative change in climate resilience programs and presents various interventions that address this approach and disaster risk management in the agrifood sector. The study is aimed at food security, agriculture, climate and gender specialists interested in gender-transformative approaches to climate adaptation and disaster risk management. It was developed within the framework of the Joint Program on Gender Transformative Approaches to Food Security and Nutrition (JP GTA).
