Description

The Social Panorama 2024 analyses the challenges of non-contributory social protection in Latin America and the Caribbean to achieve inclusive development. It highlights the need for universal, comprehensive and sustainable systems in the face of the development crisis, gender inequality and population ageing. One in three poor households lacks adequate social protection, and current programmes are insufficient to eradicate poverty. Strong social investment and comprehensive policies are required to address these gaps.
