Midagri promotes deforestation-free production through application for small farmers

Peru must demonstrate that its agricultural production is deforestation-free if it wants to continue exporting to the European Union. This need becomes urgent in a context where the European Union Deforestation Free Regulation (EUDR) will come into force in 2025, as it requires all exporting countries to demonstrate that their production was carried out without deforesting new areas. In this regard, given the need for technological tools to collect information and provide knowledge on deforestation-free production, the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation (Midagri) developed the Digital Identity of the Agricultural Producer application, which included a geo-referencing module with the support of the Amazon Innovatech project.
