Guidance Document for Regulation (EU) 2023/1115 on Deforestation-Free Products

Article 15(5) of Regulation (EU) 2023/1115 (EUDR) states that the Commission may develop guidelines to facilitate the harmonized implementation of the regulation. These guidelines are not legally binding and are only intended to provide information on specific aspects of the EUDR. They do not replace or modify the legal obligations of the regulation, and should be used in conjunction with legislation. Although they are not a unique reference, the guidelines assist operators, traders, national authorities and courts in the implementation and enforcement of the EUDR.
