Description
This document analyzes public policy interventions aimed at improving access to financing in the agri-food and rural sector in Latin America and the Caribbean. It describes credit restrictions and possible interventions in both the primary agricultural sector and the agri-food sector, including financing programs for innovation and risk management of value chains. It also studies the problem of access to formal credit for the low-income rural population and describes interventions aimed at microentrepreneurs and small rural producers. The document includes a field guide on the selection of financial instruments.
