Description

Peru’s Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) profile highlights several practices that are already being implemented in the country. These include efficient water management through irrigation infrastructure, conservation of water recharge areas, and the use of water-efficient crop varieties. Another key practice is the conservation of ancestral techniques such as terraces and canals for water retention and soil protection. Producers have also implemented good agricultural practices such as organic farming, with more than 27,000 hectares dedicated to organic crops, and the use of agroforestry to improve the sustainability of agroecosystems.
