U.S. Certified Organic Dairy Production: Three Decades of Growth

This report examines the growth of certified organic milk production in the United States over the past three decades. It analyzes changes in farm structure, production costs, technology adoption, and challenges facing organic dairy producers. Using USDA's Agricultural Resource Management Survey data from 2005, 2010, 2016, and 2021, along with other USDA data sources, it shows how organic milk production has evolved with regulatory and market changes.
