The ongoing deforestation in Asia, Africa, and Latin America is having a negative impact on people's livelihoods This accelerates climate change and reduces biodiversity The Platform for Sustainable Cocoa, the Soy and Palm Oil Network, and the Coffee Stakeholder Community committed in Gurten, Bern on June 28, 2023, to address the challenge of deforestation and promote future intersectoral cooperation Approximately 150 people invited by the four sectoral initiatives discussed what the new EU regulation on deforestation-free value chains could mean for Switzerland and the affected commodity sectors, what has already been done, and what solutions are necessary to ensure transparency and sustainability in the supply chains of these agricultural commodities.
