The article analyzes the implications of the European Regulation on deforestation-free products in the Peruvian context It discusses how this regulation affects producers, exporters, and international trade, as well as the challenges and opportunities that arise in the path towards deforestation-free supply chains in the country It is concluded that there is concern among producer countries regarding the bureaucratic and technical burden of complying with European regulatory requirements Additionally, the importance of finding a balance between the demands of the European Union in terms of traceability and environmental standards and the actual needs of local producers is highlighted.
