Description
The European Union plans to delay strict surveillance of imports from areas at risk of deforestation, after several governments in Asia, Africa and Latin America expressed concerns about the burden and unfair implications of the proposed regulations. Brussels will postpone the classification of countries at low, standard or high risk, opting to designate each country as standard risk to give them more time to adapt.
