Agricultural public policies must be pro-nature, pro-farmers and pro-innovation

In his speech at the congress of the Argentine Association of Direct Seeding Producers (AAPRESID) in Buenos Aires, IICA Director General Manuel Otero highlighted the significant progress that agriculture has made in the last 60 years in terms of productivity and efficient use of natural resources. He emphasized that, although agriculture faces major challenges, such as ensuring food security in the midst of a climate crisis, these are not new, and he advocated for a positive narrative about agriculture, urging the creation of a desired future through public policies that promote sustainability, innovation and collaboration. He highlighted the importance of strategic alliances, such as that of IICA with AAPRESID, to promote food security and sustainable development.
