Description

This document presents the context and trends affecting food and nutritional security in Latin America and the Caribbean, and proposes four key pillars: 1) Strengthening legal and institutional frameworks and policies for food security with a gender and human rights approach; 2) Promoting sustainable production and access to safe and nutritious food, especially for the most vulnerable; 3) Ensuring the affordability and consumption of healthy diets, respecting cultural diversity; and 4) Promoting sustainable and resilient agrifood systems in the face of climate change. It also includes 15 lines of action and 142 proposed measures, details the financing and instruments for their implementation, and establishes a follow-up mechanism with indicators to evaluate results and their contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals.
