Description
This report identifies opportunities for improvement and makes recommendations in the areas of detection and prevention of infectious diseases. Four prevention objectives have been proposed: to improve sanitation conditions through interventions in essential infrastructure, such as homes and public water and waste services, as well as through sanitary measures to be adopted in contact with domesticated animals (livestock, veterinary, etc.) or wild animals (high-risk environments such as caves); to combat illegal wildlife trafficking; to stop deforestation and other forms of environmental degradation; and to avoid the abuse of antibiotics in the animal industry.
