Description

This report discusses how digital technologies can revolutionize the global agricultural and food system, emphasizing the need for well-designed public policies to maximize their benefits. Analyzes how digital innovations can improve efficiency, equity and environmental sustainability in agriculture, overcoming traditional high transaction costs and information asymmetries. It also highlights the importance of integrating digital innovations throughout the entire agri-food value chain to improve the connection between farmers and markets, optimize policy implementation and encourage sustainable practices. In addition, an action framework is proposed for actors in the global agricultural sector to incorporate digital innovations that strengthen food security, generate economic opportunities and promote environmental health.
