Towards a Family Farming Program (PAF) in Colombia

A dialogue table was established between the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADR) and organizations of the National Committee for the Promotion of the International Year of Family Farming 2014 in Colombia. Three documents were created: a definition of family farming for Colombia, proposals for the National Development Plan 2014-2018, and the reformulation of the family farming program. These documents propose specific actions to reduce inequity and promote social inclusion of rural women and youth, taking into account inequalities in access to resources and participation in decision-making in the rural sector.
