OECS completes flood mitigation works in the community of Malgretoute, Saint Lucia

The OECS Commission and CCRIF SPC concluded a series of efforts to increase resilience in communities vulnerable to natural disasters in Saint Lucia, specifically in the Malgretoute area of Micoud. For two years, flood mitigation and disaster prevention awareness projects have been carried out, including riverbank stabilization and reforestation of the Fond/Malgretoute River. This initiative has actively involved the local community in activities such as the replanting of cocoa, citrus and mango trees, which in addition to preventing erosion, offer a new source of income for farmers.
